GENERAL TERMS IN DAILY LIFE
(คําศัพท์ที;ใช้ในชีวิตประจําวัน)

8.1 Time of the Day:
morning, noon, afternoon, evening, night ภาษาไทยที7ใช้ว่า “ในเวลา...” นัDน ในภาษาอังกฤษ
ใช้ preposition ต่างกันดังนีD
เวลาเช้า = in the morning

เวลาเที7ยง = at noon
เวลาบ่าย = in the afternoon
เวลาเย็น = in the evening

เวลากลางคืน = at night
ระหว่างเวลากลางคืน = during the night
นอกจากนีDยังมีที7ควรสนใจอีก คือ

all day long = ตลอดวัน
all night long = ตลอดคืน
all day all night = ทัDงวันทัDงคืน
all year round = ตลอดปี

8.2 การบอกเวลา มีวิธีปฏิบัติอยู่ 2 วิธี
8.2.1 แบบอังกฤษ มีรายละเอียดดังนีD.-

8.2.1.1 เมื7อเข็มยาว (เข็มนาที) ยังไม่ถึงเลข 6 ใช้ past

It is + จํานวนนาที + past + ชั;วโมงที;ผ่านมา

เฉพาะจํานวนนาทีเป็น 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 นาที ไม่ต้องมีคําว่า minutes ก็ได้ เช่น เวลา

14.10 นาฬิกา พูดว่า
It is ten minutes past two.

= Its ten minutes past two.

= Its ten past two. (ไม่ต้องใช้คําว่า minutes)
’
= Ten minutes past two. (ไม่ใช้ Its ก็ได้)
เวลา 8.25 นาฬิกา

It is twenty-five minutes past eight.

= It s twenty-five minutes past eight.
,
= It s twenty-five past eight.
= Twenty-five minutes past eight.

= Twenty-five past eight.
