How (so, as, too) + adj. + a,(an) + singular noun

Example. 1) He is so a good boy that everyone like him.

2) It is too expensive a car for me.

2.1.6 ใช้ a, an ไว้ระหว่างคํา quite หรือ rather กับ adjective
Quite or rather + a, an + adjective

Example. 1) It is quite a good hat.

มันเป็นหมวกที1ดีทีเดียว
2.1.7 ใช้ a นําหน้าคําที1บอกจํานวนมาก ในกรณี นี\ a ไม่ได้แปลว่า หนึ1ง
a few, a great deal, a good deal, a great many, a little, a great number.
Example. 1) He made a great many mistake.

2) He drinks a little milk.
เขาดื1มนมนิดหน่อย

2.1.8 ใช้ a, an นําหน้า proper noun เมื1อมีความหมายว่า “ใครคนหนึ1ง” หรือ “ราวกับ”
Example. 1) A Mr. Smith has called to see you.
ใครคนหนึ1งชื1อ สมิทมาหาคุณ

2.2 หลักการใช้ Definite Article (The )
2.2.1 ใช้ the นําหน้า singular countable noun เมื1อ noun นั\น กล่าวถึงเป็นครั\งที1 2 หรือ

ครั\งต่อ ๆ ไป
Example. An old man and an old woman once lived in a small hut by a river near a forest. One
day the old man left the hut and went into the forest to gather wood. The old woman went
to the river to wash clothes.

2.2.2 ใช้ the หน้า noun ที1ผู้พูด-ผู้ฟัง เข้าใจกันแล้วว่า หมายถึง อะไร, คนไหน, ตัวไหน, อันไหน,
คล้ายกับเราใช้ this, that, these, those.
Example. 1) Please take these letters to the post.

(the post หมายถึงที1ทําการไปรษณี ย์ที1อยู่ใกล้ ๆ นั\น)
2) Please shut the door.
(the door หมายถึง ประตูที1เพิ1งเข้ามาหรือออกไป)
2.2.3 ใช้ the หน้านามที1มีสิ1งเดียว เช่น the earth, the year 1940, the north pole, the white

house, the sun
Example. 1) The earth moves round the sun.

2.2.4 ใช้ the หน้าชื1อทางภูมิศาสตร์ เช่น ทะเล (seas) แม่นํ\า (rivers) เทือกเขา (chain of
mountains) หมู่เกาะ (group of islands), ชื1อประเทศที1เป็นพหูพจน์ (plural names of countries),
มหาสมุทร (oceans)
